'95 850 T-5 hesitation problem
#22
Ok folks, gather round gather round!
OBD I it is, found the port under the hood behind the headlight. my system has interesting way of not doing anything on ports there are no codes apparantly... I read them all and it never gives me 1-1-1. Anyway.
Here's what I got out of A2, A6, kind of to my surprise gave me nothing. (thanks fogducker for that link!)
A2 codes:
514 Engine cooling fan low speed signal
414 Boost pressure regulation
232 Long term fuel trim idling
214 RPM sensor signal sporadic
So the RPM signal is a result of the problem, it bogs/cuts out and then suddenly grabs and the needle jumps around. So that's that.
Engine cooling fan is broken, so that explains that code.
Boost pressure regulation... this sounds like the cause of my problem. I can audibly here some blow off starting around 3.5k RPM. According to a friend with a T-5R wagon, this should not be the case. Time to replace ALL of vacuum lines and intake hosing.
Long term fuel trim idling? What are we talking here? And could a vacuum leak be the cause?
On the spark side, everything has been checked over. Good wires, cap, rotor, plugs, all OEM and plugs gapped correctly.
Thanks for the help will let you know what I find.
David

Found the source of major issues!
A rip in the hose coming into the main intake hose before the throttle body. If you listen in this vid you can hear it blowing off.
I'm not getting more than just over half boost on the meter (just in the white).
I have PCV to do and basically a replacement of ALL the hoses this engine has. The intake hoses are soft and mushy, have ordered a full silicone and aluminium kit. Replace all other factory and vacuum lines, they are all very brittle and full of 100 cracks per mm.
it's running better, NOT bucking like a bronco but still missing power as it seems to be missing boost somewhere (perhaps seeping out of other bad hoses).
Thanks for all the help!
