'95 850 T5 Wagon blowing white smoke and lots of it
I've got a '95 850 T5 Wagon and it's blowing white smoke, and lots of it.
at first I thought it would be the PCV system the pipes where pretty badly blocked so I complete replaced it an cleaned out the hoses, also removed the oil sump cleaned all the baked on oil, put new O-rings on the oil-pickup and the other two, cleaned the oil pipe to the turbo with a new O-ring and a gasket. Cause the air-intake manifalt was of the car cleaned it and the fuel injectors as well.
There was oil in most pipes and the air intake.
any suggestions could it be the turbo, or the head gasket or is worst case scenario the piston rings?
Thanks Jan

If I remember correctly, white smoke usually signifies that you could potentially have a blown/cracked head gasket. Whereas blue means your burning oil due to worn rings/valve seats etc, and black typically signifies a problem with the fuel/air mixture. Check your oil, is it creamy and not "normal looking?"

Ya I'm not having the best of luck with this car,
At least I bough the car cheap but with problems so I expected spending a bit of money on it but Volvo parts are so expensive, (liquid gasket was $70 AUD and was only half full)
I think the oil was replaced recently before I got it cause it was beautiful clear, after I was running it for a while, opened the filler cap I did notice smoke out of it and also small bubbles on the filler cap.
The car as done 144K km, Volvo 850 Turbo 2.3L Engine: B5234T
When I replace the Head Gasket what else should I replace at this time,
the engine also makes a fats tapping sound could this be the spring on the valves? (I already replaced the oil pick-up O-ring.)
Could the turbo be causing problems how do I check the turbo? could the coolant be mixed with oil or blown into (the exhaust) or engine from the turbo?
any suggestion appreciated

Ya I complete replaced the Vent box/PVC system
I was completely blocked, found oil in the intercooler pipes, cleaned all the pipes and the air in take manifold, pretty much everything I could take of I cleaned,
So ya now I think it is either the turbo or the Head Gasket,
