I have a t5r that ran fine about a month ago but went to start last week and it turns over fine but wont start. i thought that maybe somehting had just frozen in the cold so i left it for a couple of days then came back after it had warmed up and put it in the garage with the heat on and still no start plus this time somthing killed the battery. put a charger on the battery and started to check the normal stuff, dist. cap is clean and fairly new (year old), pluggs and wires look good. fuel sprays out of rail but not sure on pressure. took off cam positon sensor looked ok a little dirty at connectors. my underhood code port does not work and my scanner is saying "PO120 (tps) pedal positon sensor". so i changed what i think was that sensor. It was attached to the throttle body. but i dont know if this would even affect starting.
I also seem to not be able to get spark or fuel in the chamber. I'm sure this is not the best way to test but i took a plugg out and turned the car over and no spark at all. i also can get voltage from a meter going to the coil but when i take the wire off the dist. cap coming from the coil and try to see if it sparks there is nothing... plus when i pull the plugg out after MANY attempts at starting it is dry. i really have no idea what it could be..
SO to sum it up
1. car turns over
2. pretty sure battery is good
3. can hear fuel pump turning on and relay 103 near fuse box seems to work(although one next to fan seems ok but dont feel it clicking, could be irrelavent)
4.dist. cap clean, pluggs and wires fairly new
5. coil pack is not producing spark but neiter is newer one when switched out
6.fuel in rail but does not go into chamber
i dont really wont to tow it to the mechanic becasue i actually sold itand got deposit onit but the guy has not come picked it up yet casue he lives in SC and im in RI but he says he still wants it whenever its fixed. And it ran fine a month ago when i was selling it and it was being test driven
any help would be greatly appreciated,

ps. the car has 204k, but never had a problem or code in the whole year i had owned it and never modded it other than kn cone filter

 

I would say bad Cam or crank sensor. That will stop the fuel and spark from getting into the chamber.

 

Thank you Tech i will check those out first chance i get. is there anyway to tell its bad before buying a new one like putting a volt meter to it or something...

 

There is but I don't have the spec's for it here.

So i just noticed that the arrow has been flashing on my dashwhen i turn the key on but still no start. could this arrow be affecting the starting by not letting fuel or spark happen?? or should i still focus on the cam and crank sensor to be the problem

 

If it is turning over then it should not be affecting it. The PNP will not let it turn the motor over if it was bad.

 

Similar problem Tech. Will start new post. Appreciate any help you can give.

fixed!!! my dad was right it was the relay above the cooling fan that is fuel related (the center one), the wires going to it were bad...
