Question 96 850 blower Fan intermittent

Help! Have a 960 non-tubo sedan and the blower fans comes on blowers for a undetermined time and stops. Then when I wait a while(usually after stopping and restarting the car it starts again). The blower motor was replaced last year. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting this. I have read on other threads something about a sensor in the car for cabin temp? Where is that located? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What model car do you have? The title says 850 and your post says 960?

Yup, he got his answer in 5 minutes before I posted my question.

I was going to try to help him no matter what model it is.

Its manual, I believe. has two dials. One for each side of car. A slide for the fan speed.

Ok so latest thing is that the fan comes on and blows for 20-30 sec and then stops. nothing I do seems to get it to come back on. Then when I turn the car off and get back in later the fan comes on again. It almost looks like the fan gets hot and stops but 20-30 sec doesnt seem like enough time for that to happen. Anyone out there with similiar experience. WHAT TO DO????

Take the fan out and hook it up to 12v and see how long it runs.

I took the fan out, hooked it up to 12v and it ran fine. I read somewhere that the resistor caould cause issues with the fan? Also has anyone ever found that the ECC unit could be bad and cause the fan not to run? I see the lights blinking on front which I read are not supposed to happening. Where should I be looking next.
