Default intermittent ac blower

I have read every thread and cannot find one that addresses my problem. 2001 S60, manual ac. Works perfectly sometimes, blows good, speed control worksfine, then I will get in and start the car and no blower. Replaced cabin air filter and jiggled every connection I could find with no results. A few times a bump or a hard turn will make it come back on but that has become rarer lately. Does not relate to temperature or how long car is turned off as far as I can tell. Suspect some kind of sensor but none mentioned in threads or literature. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes the resistor controls it. Yes I have seen many act just like yours.

thanks again, I am going to try a new one. Any hints on how to get the glove box out? removed 6 screws and everything dropped some but cannot get it out without worrying about breakage. Am i correct that there is wheere the resistor is located?

You need to remove the entire blower motor assembly. Then remove the motor and it is there. Also I bet the shock is still holding the glovebox in.

Pull the end plastic cap off the end of the dash by the passenger door to see the shock. But they usually break when going back on.

shock is off, resistance to rermoval is at the bottom of the assembly, feels very solid. have I missed some screws? removed 2 at top and 2 on each side. Also have kick plate off. Cant find anything else to remove. Sorry to drag this out so much.
