96 850 Burning Oil
Sometimes I notice a bit of intermittent smoke from the tailpipe, especially on acceleration...also I added oil the other day, been driving a bit,and today noticed on the stick it seemed low again. Mechanic said last time he checked it noticed there may be some leaks from the valve cover. What's up?
just dont forget to put the bracket that holds the lines that runs around the engine on top of the intake manifold, NOT between the block and the manifold.

Not hard just takes time. Took me about 6 hours. Make sure you have all the tools you'll need or it will waste a lot of time running back & forth. I have a list of stuff you'll need but if you go through the instructions in the sticky you should figure it out. Be sure to get some long curved needle nose pliers & those funny clamp tools and whatever you do, do not loose your intake bolts.
Dirty PCV leads to abnormal oil consumption -- insufficient lubrication. This leads to excessive wear of piston rings. Wear of piston rings lead to more blow-by, which clogs the PCV, and results in front and rear seal leaks. Clogged PCV also causes oil consumption, which causes poor lubrication and the circle continues and problems get worse.
Instead of cleaning PCV every 60k miles, a 30k miles is in order. Then a 20k miles, then a coca-cola catch-can, etc. etc.
Turbos just exacerbate the problem.
Outside of doing piston rings, keep babying the PCV and stay on top of the oil.
