Default '96 850R - EGR plug?

I've been doing some electric diagnostics on my '96 850R wagon over the past few days. I located a two prong connector with what appears to be a green/white (possibly yellow) and brown/black wires going to it. This was not connected to anything. It was located coming out of the main harness that runs over the transmission, and was resting in the area of where the starter is inside the bellhousing (laying on top of this area). It does not appear to have been plugged into anything any ime recently as there is dust inside the connector. When I check schematics, it appears this plug would be for the EGR which my car does not have. Is it possible that my car could have this EGR plug with no EGR? Anyone familiar with this?
