Why some EGR...others No EGR?
Why do some b230f in 240/740/940 have EGR and others don't. Does it matter if 5spd or Auto? Would a EGR ECU work properly in a non EGR car?
I have a computer out of a 1994 Volvo 940 with EGR 0 280 000 946. Would this work properly in a 1990 with 0 280 000 561 without EGR?

Hey everyone! I am actually looking for my EGR valve on my engine now.( '89 240 DL, B230F ) I need to order a new Catalytic Converter and FCP is asking whether the vehicle has it or not. I can't seem to see anything that would look like it. Anyone know exactly where it would lie around the engine?

the egr valve if equipped should be somewheres near the front of the car depends really ive seen a few models and thats where they were(it will most likely be a made in japan part) they usually are linked in with the exhaust manifold but dont quote me on that(mine has none) most mid 1980s 7 series had absolutely NO emissions except the cat.
question to the other posters on here... speaking of egr can you add one to a 1986 non equipped? and what would it require?

I know that here in Cali, if I was to swap a newer 90+ motor into my 82 244T, I would have to add all the emissions Sh*t that the 90+ have for the swap to be smogged.....
Wait for the experts to come on.....

OK, you got my curiosity going... why on God's green earth would you want to add EGR to your sweet ride if it didn't come equipped with it?
