I have the a/c & rec lights flashing, I have removed the glove box and dash so i can see the rec. damper motor (moves postions when switched to rec,) and the defrost/floor motor. The local dealer ran codes and advised i needed to replace all the motors, but when i plug any of the motors into the rec. damper moter wire harness they move and index fine. The blower moter and slide switch work, the temp dials work, but none of the dampers motors work in rec mode or freash air mode except for thr rec. damper, any advise?

 

The motors might need to be recalibrated by the dealer.

 

do the ecc units go bad very often? Could i have a bad unit?

 

Possibly it could be bad.

I would say about 25% out of 100% go bad.

But usually they won't light up at all.

 

where can i get a wiring diagram for the all the damper motors? may be i have a ground or short issue?

 

Not sure the online one we used to use was closed down.
