Hello I just purchased 97 850 glt turbo 71000 orig miles engine run like a dream.
here is the problem when i purchased it they told me it had a bad turbo it was smoking
bad but not horrible. i took the turbo out sent it to get rebuilt reinstalled it reconnected
everything back the way it used to be. Now i cannot see out the back window that's how
bad the smoke is.it smokes worse than before. one interesting note the man who rebuilt it
said to remove the oil filler cap and cover the hole with a rag and check to see if the smoking went
away. it actually stop smoking i am confused. also before this i checked all hose and replaced some
Does anyone have any idea what it might be. also before it had more pickup.

 

The vent box might be clogged.
Check the intake hoses and see if there is oil in them.

 

Sorry where is the vent box. i have a repair manual but cannot find it. is that where the air filter is

 

No it is located on the front of the engine under the intake manifold. You would have to remove the intake to replace it.
