Question 97 GLT Wagon-correct miles

I am looking at a 97 GLT Wagon that is showing 124K miles on the odometer. I ran a carfax on it and it showed 124,114 miles on it in 2004, which tells me that the miles it shows are "probably" not the right miles. I know how to check the computer on my 94 850 to get the right mileage for the car, I am wondering if there is a way to do so on a 97 model. Thanks!

Since 97 uses OBD II you can not check it the same way. You need to take it to a dealer or someone with a Volvo scan tool to get the mileage. Were you able to drive it and see if the odometer works?

Like dan2286 said, you can go to the Stealership OR some european service shops can also access mileage on the OBD2 port. If the dealer says NO, call another one.

OK thanks! I have NOT driven the car yet, just located it today and thinking about going to test drive it tomorrow, since it is about 100 miles from where I live. I did run a Carfax on it and found it to be a straight up car in that regard, anyway. Thanks for all your help, I wish they had left these later model ones alone on this odometer issue and left them like the 94 models. Oh well.........I am sure they had good reason to do so (like being able to charge to check it---HAHAHAHA!). Thanks again!
