Default ABS Light But No DTC...

Looking for a little help, brand new to the forum and to volvos in general. Just purchased a 94 850 NA Wagon and currently the ABS light is illuminated on the dash. I go to retrieve the code from the obd-I system and I get no codes. Not even the 1-1-1 code, however I do get the initial light when the button is pressed... I used contact cleaner on the obd ports and also on the male and female sides of the ABS controller and connector, still no change to the light. Anyone delt with or know of a thread which someone has delt with this issue???

I know that I was retrieving the codes in the proper manner because I got the codes off other ports without an issue. It was just the ABS port that wasnt giving me any codes. Not even tht 1-1-1.

A-3 is the ABS port. I need to check my daughter's 95 850 soon enough as her ABS light comes on intermittently (I suspect a wheel sensor) and will let you know how that works out. The usual suspects for ABS lights are 1. wheel sensors 2. the ABS controller board (solder joint issues) 3. the pedal position switch(es) 4. the pump itself. 5. the ignition switch (try jiggling the key to see if that gets the light to go out).

The previous owner had told me that when he bought it the ignition switch was bad qnd that he replaced it, is it possible that he may have done something to the switch that would set off that ABS light?

I figure, if the computer is totally dead, it can't answer back with a trouble code.
