All up in your grill
Hello all!
I've been enjoying volvo ownership for the past 4 months. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find any info.
I have a 96 850 platinum wagon. I love the styling but have wondered about switching out my stock silver grill for a more stylish one. I like the idea of an eggcrate especially with a chrome ring around it, but I want to maintain the stock volvo logo and slash. Was there an oem one available, or are they all aftermarket? If aftermarket, has anyone had luck in mounting their logo and slash? Pictures would be appreciated if possible.
Thanks!

Checkout IPD's offerings. They have an egg crate grill, but I don't think they offer any suggestions on getting the badge attached.
One thing you can do - which I did - is to take your factory grill apart and paint it with a paint for plastic. I did it and it looks really good. You can take the badge & stripe off which is easy to do.
Sanding down the grill was a pain - you find all the little dings & pits that your car has suffered through the years! I boned it up by over-spraying the paint, but it’s a good idea to give it a few coats to make sure it can withstand the rocks that’ll smack into it.
I haven’t put the stripe back yet. I need to pickup some silver paint and repaint it before it goes back on.
