Hi all; ran into a problem the other day when my blower shorted out when I started the car on a cold morning. It started up loudly then died right away with a sputter. Here'd the kicker though: I can still get the blower to run if I physically press down hard on the blower dial. This works on all four settings, but is easiest on #4 because I can press it hard to the right and back. If I don't press down I get nothing at all.

Looked back a few posts and saw that Litehawk was having a similar problem. I thought I'd try taking out the glove box and giving the motor a test, but is there anything else I should look for? Could some other connection in the dash have blown? Any ideas?

 

If you can press on the switch to make it work the switch might be bad.
