Sounds like a bad bearing... So i would say a idler
Have you taken the serp belt off to see if its there or timing?

Not sure what I'm hearing ,, sorry.

I'm with Matty, I'd pull the serpentine and see if it's still there.

If he takes the serp belt off, and it still makes the noise Id look to the TB idlers or the w-pump

Agree w/what everyone else said too. Either H2O pump, TB tensioner, or idler. Pull off TB cover and see if any have slop in bearings. But yeah, am betting your 200K water pump is groaning at you..

I want to pull the cams and drop in the NA's I pulled from the jy. The thing is that my stem seals are leaking so I need to do them at the same time. I did the timing belt about 20k ago, replaced the idler roller, the tensioner roller was real tight so I left it, but didn't check the water pump (didn't look old). An older guy had the car before me and had the belt done at 130k (somewhere around 3/06). Most people get upsold on these jobs, especially in the timing belt area. I was guessing that it was done.

I'm going to try to get at this stuff later this month. I guess I need to have all parts on deck and knock it all out at once.

So much to do, so little time (and money).
