I unwittingly bought a strut to replace my bent one for a 1996 volvo 850 but I have a 1995 volvo 850 should I return the part and order one for a 1995 850? Could I just use the strut that I have because its pretty similar? Are the models that much different? Help!

 

94 thru 97 should use the same struts. I would probably replace both though with the same type struts or find one that matches the one that is not bent.

Yes, I'm with Jim. Get them in pairs. Having a new one and one with 100,000 miles on it will kinda suck.
