Anyone have a pristine 850R wagon?
I think I just sold my 850… and am already getting pretty nostalgic. I am in a situation where I don't need/can't afford 2 vehicles at the moment, but needed a very reliable, newer vehicle for lots of travel at work.
However, I've always wanted an 850R wagon, instead of the 850 n/a I owned. My 850 was very good to me and I can't quite explain it, but I just love these cars. They are sophisticated yet sporty, and practical yet sexy (to me, at least.) I hope that in a couple years I'll be debt free and able to spend money on more pleasures in life.
So, what do you think a pristine, low mileage 850R wagon will be worth in a couple years?

As owner of an R wagon, I hope they go up. I wouldn't count on it though. 1980s and 1990s cars, with a few exceptions, just haven't caught the high dollar collector's fancy. I don't see that changing in the near future.

I have a '96 850R wagon. I have rebuilt almost every mechanical component on this car. It currently has 160k on it. I would not let it go for under $5500 no matter what the odometer says.
If you buy the car from an enthusiast who knows what an 850R/T5R (sedan or wagon) actually is, the value/price will go up. If you just happen to pick the car up from someone on Craigslist that is selling a "Volvo 850 Turbo," you will get a much better deal as the R means nothing to them and they don't actually know what they have.

I have one with 158K miles. I got it last year for $3000 and they seller took $700 off for my NA 850 wagon with around 250K miles. My 1996 855R is not pristine though. There are scratches and a couple of dings. I like the wagon much more than my T-5R and it gets more use.
That is the exact state my car was in when I bought it....absolute mint condition, but blown headgasket.
I wonder how upset my wife would be if I picked up another white wagon....I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to convert it to a "camper"....
