Default ATF Crux

850 Turbo 1996 105k

I checked my ATF (Got the handy yellow dipstick) and its barely red but at the proper level. I assume its never been changed as Ive owned the car since 60k. After some reading Ive found mixed sentiments on messing with the ATF at all after a certain point. At the current rate everything shifts fine and no leaks. Im just concerned for the long haul as I would like to keep the car running smoothly for years to come. So on my list of things to do was a ATF change. But now Im on the fence about it. And also dont know if I should move to a synthetic or stay with the OEM spec stuff. I was going to use Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF.

So now Im looking for opinions! :-)

Should I do a partial swap once or twice or three times etc and call it a day? Or do you guys generally not care and do a total swap? Also is moving to synthetic a real concern?

Thanks as always!

l changed my ATF at 95k when l got my 850R.105k on an 850 is nothing. if it has never been changed l would recommend you changing it. IPDs ATF change kit is your best bet. or you can do a drain and fill through the drain plug. l use mobil 1 synthetic ATF and mine shifts really good.
