Default A B S computor moduel HELP !

Hello, I have a 1996 volvo wagon with 284,000 miles on it and its my daily driver. I went to get a sticker and got rejected because my A B S light was on ,so I have been searching through some pages here for help on my abs unit. I found the help on dismanteling step by step, and I was able to separate the unit very carefully with no damage to the lid of the computer. I then cleaned off all of the silicon , did all the solding all of the connections that were circled on the page, resealed the unit, placed it back in the car plugged it in, but the lights are still there . My question now is do I have to drive the car for 100 miles or so for the light to clear itself or do I need to bring it back to the Volvo dealer to clear the codes? If neither of those should I assume the unit is shot......... has this happen to anyone else?

You need to have the codes cleared and you will be good to go.

Question

I had my wife go to the dealer but of course they could not do it till this week mid week of course . So this morning I went to to local shop down the street he hooked it up to his computer but he could not get into the abs system, at least he did not charge me for the hook up,so I guess my wife will be going back to the dealer. The tech at the local shop said that the codes should have been erased if I disconnected the battery after I put the module back in is this true ?

Thumbs up

Hello tech,
I finally was able to get to the dealer today and had the head tech put it on the computer, he said the rear sensors come up but cleared out fine and also the pump, but he put power to it and the pump was okay . So he told me to ether take it apart again and chase it back on the board or get a new one .I took option 1 and disassembled the module again found out I miss one of the joints so I soldered it and no lights I want to thank you for the help ....
