Default Battery Terminal fix

You will need 10mm bolt head, short bolt. Helps if both aren't missing (you can get the hardware people to help) the small washer, and nut and a larger washer.
Safety glasses, dremel, JB weld, sandpaper, thick small pipe, clamp, hammer.

You can see from the picture, you want to first pound the large washer around some pipe while it's all clamped down. Then you can keep rounding it, and finally cut the washer down to size with the dremel and glasses. That way it'll fit the terminal. Then you just sand everything a bit, JB weld it, and wait till tomorrow.

Mine needs to be curved a bit more aggressively.

I am not following what you are trying to do, are you trying to wedge the terminals together? Points for being creative but I dont know about that, no offense but you lost me at JB Weld, you really should be replacing it. What happened that got you to this point?

the impossible to find nut that you screw the bolt into to tighten your battery cables on. The one's in the picture. I was missing one side because advanced auto idiots tightened it to the point of breaking. so even time i go to start the car i'd have to play with the wires... dunno what the dealer charges for it. but considering i paid $5 for a petcock, not worth the wait or money.

I "lost" the nut when Sears installed a new battery for me. Solution? Small hose clamp.

Default Best Fix

I used an inverted butterfly nut on a 1/2" bolt and washer. Works perfectly.

zorz, Perhaps it was a 1/4" bolt and not "1/2"??
