Default Best PDF or online guide for working on Volvo

I'm going to replace the front upper seat springs on my 97 850 sedan and am curious the steps I will need to take, and if there are any specific tools I will need. Should I just grab a Chiltons? Thanks for any info.

Tons of info online. 1) Start with Youtube videos. There are quite a few. (search using "Robert DIY" for starters). 2) if you want an online guide, bookmark Volvo 850 service & repair manual
3) special tools - you will need 16/18mm sockets/wrenches - not typical sizes to some wrench sets. Check your strut's "pin" on top to see if it uses an allen wrench or if its slotted to fit a wrench. You will need a spring compressor. Also there's a "star" or butterfly nut on top which takes a special tool ( you maybe able to rent one?). I made my own tool by cutting slots into a 2" x 2" iron pipe section but you can also try using vise grips/hammer etc (just plan on putting on a new nut afterwards). Also, my advise is go with OEM/best quality spring seats. You don't want to have to repeat this after 60K because brand x parts didn't last.

I have used RobertDIY's videos as guides for simple and complex repairs. Good camera work and good explanations.
