Has anyone seen this done in the body color of the car with the slash? No black...full body color?

Either way I am sold it looks pretty darn sharp! I just have such a red car...you do it first red turbo and post some pictures.

I think it would look good in the body color. I thought about doing it to my white 02 S60, but the wife nixed that idea. I was also a little concerned because the white you can buy in the Krylon I used is a much brighter white than the Arctic White color of the S60. I think if you could find a red that very closely matched your body color that it would look awesome. Post some pics if you do.

Ha, not for me. The red on red thing reminds me too much of red wheels on red car. And that's too Honda civicy for me.

Black is all I'll do lol.

I've seen the white S60 grille on IDP's web site and it looks good. Of course the 850 is black so the black grille worked on mine. I still think it would be interesting to see what a red one would look like on a red Volvo. Maybe somebody can Photoshop one and post a pic.

oh yeah duh....on topic.

I was ummm trying a few things out with this trim painting and shoe polish leather dye ect ideas.

So I died the the trim first. I got a pretty even coat all over ( thanks to my DI from the US Army and plenty of boot work) overall I would say it looked pretty darn good.

However i could see the duribilty issue coming into play as I live in a crazy climate. Weather ala Sybil and the sun is worse than Anne Hesh!

So I decided to paint the trim. Thats the route I would go and recomend. However I would dye the trim first...it offers a better base for the paint to adhere to and its alot cheaper than a adhesive!

I should be a mad scientist. Ok so back to body color ect and keeping it looking sharp.

I want to thank the guy in this thread that brought up ICE by turtle wax.

What I did was take his idea and apply it to a differnt concept...the body of the car. I know what you're thinking, it is a wax made for the body of the car, this is not lost on me. Allow me to bring you up to speed. THe paint on my car is pretty much crap and its dying at a profficent pace. So I wanted to experiment and see what could be done with what I have left.
I had previously waxed the car about a month ago with Mothers Carnuba wax/cleaner and had gotten average results. SO as I was looking at the hood I felt a compelling need to try rubbing compound! bad idea on my part as it penetrated the paint and was lifting what clear coat was left. SO I cleaned it off with windex which works fine. I had bought some ice and decided to try that.

As I was applying the ICE I didnt quite like the way it was looking and it was about 50% dry so I went right back to the carnuba. I miexed the 2 together on the hood and OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO momma! DID I GET ONE HELL OF A SHINE AND FINISH! I did the upper portion of the car and left the lower half as is. If anyone would like pictures I would be more than happy to post them. Has anyone else tried anything with outstanding results?
