Default bonding cv boot

Alrite, so the other day after replacing my wheel bearing(after i already had the new hub in) i noticed that there was a small puncture in my left cv boot, which i think happened when we were taking the axle out of the hub. The tear is only maybe a half inch long. I dont have much cash right now so i was going to clean the cv boot really well, getting all the grease off around the tear, and apply an industial rubber cemeent called pliobond to try to seal the tear. It says it used in automotive repair for hoses, gaskets, seals, couplings, motors, fuel lines. looks like a legit rubber cement. Do you think this will prolong the life of the joint until i get enough cash to replace either the boot or the axle?
thanks, weston.

i dont think it would work that well only because it flexes so much right on that joint (kinda why the boot is there).

i have an extra outer boot just sitting here. ill sell it to you for cheep + shipping

yeah thats what i was thinking too. it said that it can withstand vibration, flexing and stretching, but well see. the outer boot is the larger one, correct?

I was thinking instead of just replacing the boot it would be just as much work to replace thewhole left axle shaft. there is a slight creaking/clicking now when turning every now and then, so the joint might already be on the way out. on fcp the rebuilt ones are only 79.00. After i replaced the abs module today, i put that pliobond on the tear, so i'll see if that slows the grease from leaking out until i get enough cash. My main concern now is the timing belt job which is really gonna break my bank.

Shoe Goop works great on repairing boots that are still in good shape. Preclean with brake cleaner.

yeah i cleaned it with brake cleaner before i did it. it looked like fresh tears, and there was no grease around the area symbolizing a leak for a period of time. I am located in pennsylvania.
