Hi, Im new to the forum and had a few questions. I have a 95 850 turbo and was wondering what the stock boost setting for this model is and what i can SAFELY turn it up to without upgrades and also what the engine is capable of handling on stock internals when tuned right. Has anyone had any problems running a BOV open atmosphere and how did you eliminate the factory recirc valve on the oe turbo? Thanks in advance and any help is greatly appreciated.

 

The factory boost is between 5-7lbs. I have heard of people running 10lbs. all day long with no problems.

Not sure about the BOV.

 

Do you really need a BOV for an automatic transmission? I would be concerned about running rich by releasing to the atmosphere.

Our wastegate is controlled electronically by the ECU -- not mechanically like most other cars. Our ECU does not like manual boost controllers. Most folks increase boost by purchasing a re-programmed ECU from places like www.ipdusa.com
