boost gauge not working
Hey guy,
Just noticed while driving today, my boost gauge is stuck right in the middle, even under heavy acceleration. Didn't notice any loss in power and when I turned it off, it stayed there in the middle.
From what I understand and remember, the gauge should go to half way in the middle when really pushing the car and goes right to the bottom when the car is turned off.
My question is if this would be a hole in a vacuum hose somewhere or is the gauge itself just broken?
Thanks for any help

Sounds like the gauge lost its connection to the vacuum source somewhere along the line. Have you checked it's mounting location on the vacuum tree in the engine bay? It's right under the throttle body cover. You'll see a few vacuum lines coming out of it. The boost gauge line (if it's the same as my '97 850R) is the yellowish one. There is also a connection that is clipped to the top of the hood release. It has the yellow line going into a larger black line. See if the connection at either one of those two spots are broken or loose. I'll see if I can find pictures of what I'm talking about....

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll most likely have a chance to tackle this problem tomorrow morning. The turbo is definitely still working, had a few minutes tonight to take her on a short highway run and acceleration was the same.
I hope it is one of the vacuum lines under the throttle body or even under the battery as I got from the sticky option (thanks rspi). I really don't want to take the dash apart.
Will post if and when I figure it out.
Thanks.
