Boost Stops at 5
Coming back from Michigan today and I had my Greddy Profec B Spec II set to about 9 PSI, boost didn't really kick in until 3k rpms (since I'm running the 19T, I get about 4 right away and then at 3k it jumps up) and AFRs were all good, never went above the low 11s WOT. Anyways, got through Chicago, and now I can barely get it above 5 psi. I didn't touch anything on it. I just check all my vac lines, they're all good, nothing out of place, I'm running a fmic, checked all the couplings, there are no rips or tears that would open up. I can get about 6 or 7 psi in 2nd, but other than that, it won't go above 5. I know the limp mode for the ECU is right around 4 or 5 psi, but the ECU isn't controlling boost. The limiter on the Greddy is set for 15psi and I never hit that. Other than that, the car doesn't feel any different off the line or up until 5 psi. I was really happy to have some boost again, and now I'm back to feeling like I have an NA.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I'm going to jack up the car this week and take a look at the intercooler couplers to see if anything is suspicious there, but since I'm running the fmic, I don't have a lot of places for a leak.

Well, I took my car for another test drive and when it was first warmed up, the car was driving great, I was hitting 10psi no problem, but about 15 mins in when I guess it was "more" warmed up, I went WOT in 3rd, got to 5psi and kind of stumbled, and after that I couldn't get it above 5 psi. Then like five mins later, I could barely boost at all. It was like the warmer everything got, the less I could boost. I wasn't able to hook my BCS back up because I don't have any vac line for the intake pipe, but I don't know if this would maybe be a new symptom of something else. And I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but my cooling fan kicked in several times and it's only 70 degrees out, it seems a bit much.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I thought about that. I've never heard of that happening before, but I guess it's a possibility. I'll check that out too when I get some more vac hose and can hook the BCS back up, that will rule out if it's the EBC or not.

yeah, I know they have those hoses, but it's a kit, you can't just buy the expansion tank hoses. And I already have SAMCO radiator hoses.

Stylin' Motors sells a silicone kit for the vacuum hoses - they claim it's everything you need. It's on my wish list!

All of my hoses are Stylin. Radiator, vacuum, and just recently intake. Like Gilber33 said the vacuum kit has tons of hose. Excellent product and service.
I sent them an email today requesting the IAC hose that also blew out on my car when the upper intercooler hose blew. We'll see if they come through with something.

Update on the IAC hose
I just got email from Stylin hoses and they are going to make the IAC to vacuum tree hose in reinforced silicone. I'm sending them my blown out one to use as a template.
So all who want one...send them and email and let them know.
As I said they offer a great product and personally I like the fact that they are made in the USA.
