Default Boost stops working...

The last few days my 2.5T has experienced some temporary big drops in power. It seems (and sounds) like there is no boost, although I don't have a guage on it. The last time the power drop occured, I drove the car 3 times before the boost came back. It seems a brief WOT acceleration will sometimes restore the power back to normal. If anyone has had similar experience, please let me know, what the fix turned out to be.

I think I have a spare TCV I can swap out next time it happens.... My car has been running flawless for like 35K miles and it's very apparent there is a big drop in power when this problem occurs. No CELs or messages. I'll try a scan guage on it later tonight.

TCV is a great place to start. Also check all the Vac lines and make sure they are on the right lines and 2nd that none are cracked or loose. Then check the Over the Engine Pipe couplers. I had a similar issue and the top coupler was torn so the clamp became loose and when at WOT the coupler would slide up. Just a place to start. My 03 Vac lines and Couplers were trash buy 60,000 so give them a look. GL

Thanks, I checked the large hoses and intercooler piping last night and everything looked pretty sturdy and well connected. I'll check some of the smaller lines tonight.

TCV...same thing happened to me. Replaced my "HD" TCV with my old stock TCV with 60K and the problem went away.

Thanks! The smaller lines look good and well connected. I've ordered a new OEM type TCV.

Looking at the current Mods listed in your Sig . If i were you take a look at Pages - Home or Phuzzy Motorsports and i would upgrade that TCV. The higher boost from a Tune can throw off the TCV. Just a thought and for the added $10 or so its worth the upgrade.
