Boyd/Foose 850 on eBay

Saw that when it went through Barrett Jackson a while back. My only problems with it are that I find it to be ugly as sin and that they left the motor and suspension and instrior stock. When it went through barrett jackson, it sold for like 14K....dont think id pay anything NEAR that for it, regardless of the shape it is in.

If that was suppose to be some big shot custom finished car, they must have had hand cuffs on. A off the line T-5R wagon would be a better buy. I assume the ECU was upgraded to preform at least as well as the R. They should have at least given them a T-5R to work with, at least it would have had a rare VIN . Sad!!!

Unless you have a real thing for the designer, you're looking at a $3,200 Volvo 850 wagon. They are a dime a dozen with that milage. Without the **58** vin, it isn't worth more than $4,500. I'm surprised anyone bidded more than that. You can get a nice 850 turbo wagon and paint it ugly for less.

Boys- I see a whole lot of badmouthing going on here, about a car that none of you have ever seen. Well, let me tell you, it is better to look first, and BS later. The Foose car is in MY garage as I write this. It is a gorgeous car, beautiful paint, perfect like new condition. It has more performance mods than paint and pulls and handles markedly better than my 855 T5 car. It has low miles and a pedigree of sorts. Let me assure you all, it was a bargain.
BTW, if rspi, Super Moderator (???), knows of any more "you're looking at a $3,200 Volvo 850 wagon. They are a dime a dozen with that milage (sp)." cars, his words, not mine, I'm a buyer. Cash talks, BS walks!
We will probably be the only Volvo in the BBORR next year. Corvettes will be embarrassed.
To requote Sammy, "I can't drive 155"

Hey Lynn JR, We looked at the listing on eBay, which should have disclosed any information to encourage the public to drop some real $$$ on the car. Other than the sharpie signature, the two tone steeler paint job, and the special piece of paper that was mentioned on the sale sheet, we really didn't have much to go on. Just didn't say much about mods. As far as having cash, any I really have never seen anyone brag about having tossed down less than $30 G's on a custom or classic car. LOL
BoxPin, we seen some good pics. What we need to see is some 1/4 mile times. I doubt they will be any better than yours. As for his 855 T5, who knows what kind of condition that thing is in. A stock 855 T5 is a nice car but without mods, it's a nice fast grocery getter. So, I'm sure the Boyd Foose 855 has some nice suspension mods and may have been chipped a little, maybe to match the R, but I bet it's a far cry from the mods that you guys and others around the net has done. It still has a box intake. Come on!!!
As I mentioned before, I think the sad thing was that Volvo had such a foot on their necks they couldn't make any real REAL REAL changes that would have made it more like a race car. As the seller mentioned, it was purchased only to get the MB they have. Lynn, I'm glad you have it and will hopefully take care of it. Maybe they gave you a list of the mods and you can keep it as some kind of selling tool in the future.
Here is a 262C that probably pulled more $$$: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Barrett-Jackson Auction Company - 1995 VOLVO 850 TURBO
Where does it describe anything about performance mods?
Pic from the barret-jackson page
Watch out now.... Look at that motor!
it has triple secret service invisible morphing performance upgrades that disrupt the space time continuum, that make it faster than anybody 855 on here.

Lynn, for the most part people here are just ribbing you for the fun of it,,, but there may be a little truth in the ribbing.
I did not see much in the way of mods and like others have said it is still an 850 in the end, however you probably paid the least ever for something those two have massaged... Silver lining?
