Driving the other day, the "Brake" light popped up on the dashboard of my '93 850. Freaked me out because of what the manual has to say about brake fluid, but when I popped open the hood and took a look, the fluid was exactly in the middle of the Max and Min levels. Anything else I should check, or is this just a false warning from the dash?

 

I'm assuming you've checked that the parking brake hasn't been lifted a couple clicks right?

 

Oh yeah, it's not engaged at all, and there's a separate light on the dash just for the parking brake.

 

Wonder if your pads are worn down?

 

I think the pads are alright. Had the car checked out and brakes serviced when I bought it.

But I did see in the manual that the light could mean there's a brake circuit out. What exactly is that and what does it do?
