Default High mileage upgrades

I have a 94 850 Turbo, it has roughly 230,000 miles on it. Since I am now going to have it with me at school after leaving it at my house for a couple years, I wanted to do a couple things to it, maybe an air intake and some other minor upgrades. Anyone have an 850 that has that many miles on it and they're still playing with? I want to know if I'm going to have to worry about the transmission or maybe turbo puking out, something that would be costly to fix. It has been maintained constantly and runs great.

My 91 745T had ~230,000 miles when I started modding her.
Just keep up with regular maintenance and you will have no problems.

Plus....If you are only doing little modds....you wount have to worry. once you start upgrading the turbo system...etc. then you will want to keep an eye on things

Start out small, like CAI, turbo-back exhaust, maybe an ECU upgrade....etc.

That's all I really want to do, the CAI and exhaust. Something to just give it a little extra kick. The car really has never been driven hard, it's all highway miles on it. You don't think I should have any problems with the transmission or turbo going bad? Those are my main concerns.

And I'm also going to put on new seals for the lines to and from my turbo, does anybody know where I can get those seals and which ones I need?

check out ipdusa.com

actually a CAI and Exhaust system help protect the turbo. it helps the turbo breathe by removing exhaust gases faster, which lowers the pressure over the turbine.

get a 3in downpipe to a 2.5in catback, or 3in turboback.

I see IPD has the cat back and the downpipe, but I'm not really looking to spend that much right now.

Where would I be able to find a turboback? Would that be something that might be cheaper going to a local garage to do?

you will have to call up a local shop and get a quote. the downpipe will be the most exspensive piece, for it also includes a cat. you will want a high flow cat, which will cost more then a regular one.
for street use, go for 3in dowpipe to 2.5in catback.
the exhaust will cost you.

also check out the volvo resource thread by s70driver. it lists a bunch of aftermarket sites.
