Default Broken balljoint mount

My 850 is currently sitting in the shop with a broken mount for the control arm balljoint.

Unfortunately, my car is stranded and the guys have to check on Monday if and how they can get the part. I have a feeling this can end up being expensive, so in the meantime I'm trying to figure out what this should cost so that I can decide what to do about the situation. So what I'm wondering is this: What is the proper name for the part that the mount for the ball joint sits on. Is this the spindle? A parts number or any links to where I can buy this would also be awesome. If anyone has any idea of what the part and/or labor should cost that would be great too.

Thanks!

Thanks,

Maybe my explanation wasn't very good. The control arm and ball joint are fine, it's the mount that the ball joint slides into on the wheel side that's broken.

I poked around a little online, would that be the steering knuckle or spindle that the ball joint mounts to?

In my haynes it is refered to as a steering knuckle. A bolt is used to clamp the top of the ball joint into the bottom hole of it. You should be able to reference that to get the price of one. If you've broken that, it would seem that the ball joint is probably bad too. If just the bolt is broken then you may be able to drill and "easyout" the bolt, clean the threads, and put a new bolt in. Labor cost to change knuckle might be your issue if being done by others, but??
