Default broken flywheel bolt

hey, wasn't sure where to post this. this is actually about my other car but you all have proved very very helpful in the past. I was changing the clutch and getting the flywheel turned on my 2000 eclipse GT. I was taking one of the 8 flywheel bolts off and the bolt snapped off inside the plate that the flywheel bolts to. I have tried drilling a hole in it and taking a screw extractor to it which didn't work, I tried spaying a lot of lubricating oil in there in trying it again which didn't help. I called the mitsubishi dealer who said that they used blue loctite which breaks down at 300 degrees F, so I took a torch to the plate, kept a laser thermometer on it, and when it got to about 350 degrees, tried the screw extractor again which didn't work. I really need this car back on the road, and it's starting to look like a machine shop is my only option. PLEASE HELP.

Default RE: broken flywheel bolt

Try tapping good with a Punch that covers the Bolt area this way you won't damage the hole you drilled.

Which type of extractor are you using?

Is it the short one in a socket?

If not try to find one of those so you can get good torque on it to loosen it.

You might also want to try to reheat it to get it out.
