Hey guys I am getting a deal on a BSR stage3 ecu out of a 94 850 turbo. mine is a 95 850 turbo. Has anyone had this ecu in their car? My car is stock engine wise for now, just a cone air filter and in about 2 months I will begetting full turbo back exhaust. Is it ok to use this ecu without the exhaust/downpipe? should I still feel the difference in power?

Isn't the Stage III meant for a car with a larger 18T/19T turbo?? Look into that first before you drop the ECU in.

I'm of the mind that you do the hardware first (DP, exhaust, intake ect..) then you do the software to take advantage of said hardware.

 

Well it came from a car with a stock turbo with the conical dp side but it did have a downpipe and exhaust

 

I was just looking at the BSR site and there Stage III kit only comes with the Tune, DP, Exhaust and fuel pressure regulator.
So I'd say your good to go then. I would still wait till you have the turbo back exhaust installed since the tune is specifically written to maximize the better air flow of a freer flowing turbo back exhaust.

$200 for the tuned ecu. Are you from WA too? if so are you going to the IPD garage sale?

Yep, I'm down in Olympia. I'm planning on heading down to iPd, but I won't know for sure if I can get away from work for the weekend till Monday. I hope I can, cause I just finished up some fun stuff on my S60R that I'd like to show off.

Yep, I have a '97 854R as well.

The garage sale is a lot of fun. I've been the last 6 years and it gets better every year. Some pretty good deals in the swap meet area and iPd has everything on sale as well.
