Default Bummed: got the wrong gasket stuff

So i ordered everything I was going to need to do the timing belt, water pump, and cam swap from FCP this past week.

Evidently what FCP sells as OEM liquid gasket maker is not actually OEM liquid gasket maker, and Tech, among others, have told me that this stuff won't work. Has anyone else run into this? i REALLY don't want to have to run to the dealership tomorrow and pay $50 for a tube of gasket maker, and also don't want to wait another week to do this, which is what I would have to do if i ordered the REAL oem stuff from IPD.

Sorry, Just venting. I found another thread here where it was discussed that the FCP stuff was wrong, but they are still selling it as OEM replacement. It just sucks.

Well, the dealership here sells it for $35 - not as bad as I had thought, but still not great. Guess I'm on the way there to get it.

Update #2: I got the right gasket material from the dealership and used my buddy's discount (advance auto parts) and wound up getting it for just over 20 bucks. I'll take that.

Yamaha dealer has Yamabond for about $10-15. I used it when I rebuilt my engine last year and on a 930 engine about 4 years ago. No leaks.
