That looks pretty good. What did you use? I have to do mine as they are getting pretty gray and worn.

"restore black" by bondo. comes in a nice kit with a foam sponge and everything. from what i read it is a dye, not an additive (ie. armorial).

Oh, it's a dye? Is that something that any parts store would have?

Funny this topic comes up because JUST YESTERDAY I order myself a bottle of restoration dye. There are 5 star reviews on ipd of a product called "forever black". It is like $13.

I'm gonna have to pick some of this stuff up. I didn't know there were dyes available for this sort of application. Kind of glad I know that now.

I'm excited to get mine in tha mail. I painted all the trim black last year and those gray faded bumpers make the car look so tacky and I'm sure bring down the value of the car more than the $13 I paid for restoration fluid.

Haha. I don't think my car even has a value anymore. The faded gray against my black isn't too appealing, I would really like it to be a lot darker, something that would be close to my wheels would be nice.

Do you guys think I could do my door handles too? It feels like the same material as the bumbers.

I also was thinking about doing the area between the car and the mirrors that fades to gray overtime.

I would think you could. I've used the same application that I put on my bumpers on the door handles too, although it wasn't dye and I've never used anything on the piece between the mirror and the car, I don't see why not though. I would, and probably will when I get to that point.

Good point. You got any tips or products to use for paint restoration? I started a thread about that, probably wasn't necessary since you had this one going.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I think it just needs a professional who knows what he's doing to bring it back to life and then I can maintain it from there on out.
