Default Cam position sensor connector variation?

Replacing the cam position sensor and both connectors are disintegrating. I’m looking to replace the connector on the loom side, but it has four part numbers for what I assume to be four different variations.

Code I - 977929
Code II - 978139
Code III - 978147
Code IV - (97)8148

Does anyone know the correct one to use? Thanks

Please tell me what the wire colors are and what goes to what to the sensor! I bumped mine and it fell apart before I could see what wire is which. I replace w/ deutcshe connector, but I started getting CEL for P0340 right after. It fumbles bad beyond 3k rpm and traveling >60 mph. I read >4 ohms on sensor pins 1- pink to 3- grey. I had zero problems before bumping connector, and since It tests very close to expected 5-10 ohms, I assume wiring bad. Which is ground on harness? grey/green trace? Should I be getting 12v on the yellow/blue trace? I'm also getting2 v on the run (while running).

Not quite. Your colors are different. I've a 1996 960 base model, non turbo. My harness colors are red, yellow/blue and green/grey trace. I did swap my (sensor to harness) pink to the yellow/blue and green to the red and the code went away and had no problems reving up beyond 4k. Thank you for the reply!!!

I'll check in a few min what readings I'm getting on those wires, I forget. Are you getting the cam pos code? run-ability issue? I've noticed a great deal of my connectors have fallen apart, I've since rebuilt a number of connectors including ignition harness. Get yourself a deutschconnector crimper and a set of deutch connectors.
Your wiring and readings are right. Y/B is constant 12 while running. Gry/Grn is ground, Red is signal out (will flash 12V as cam rotates).
