Can't get ECU codes to display on '95
I have followed the instructions in the Haynes manual and every other source I can find, but the flashing LED will not flash.
I put the probe into Bank A socket 2. I turn the ignition key to "ON" -- radio and AC come on. I push the button for one second and the LED lights up. When I release the button, no codes, not even 1-1-1, are displayed. I do the same exercise for Bank A, Socket 6. Start the car. I spit and squint in my most Josey Wales threatening manner to intimidate the Swedish immigrant. Nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
JM

The OBDII plug is in the center console rite under the Change holder. The Change holder pops rite off and even says OBDII rite on the change holder.(the text is really small though) Atleast that is where it is on my 95
Doesn't hurt to double check:
Key should be in position II
Maybe try putting the jumper in A2 with the car off, then go to position II and press button for 1 second. Do the eye squinting thing again and see if that works. [>:]
On my 95 the OBDII port is present but not functional. Autozone will read OBDII codes for free if you want to confirm whether it works. I get everything from the OBDI port under the hood.
