Car periodically shuts off

Car periodically shuts off
So after my car gets warmed up, it will spontaneously shut off. I wait a couple minutes, and it starts right back up like nothing ever happened. It does this about twice a week. Its a 93 850 w/ a non turbo 5 cyl. The problem doesnt last long enough to properly diagnose it. If anyone has any ideas, let me know...
Thanks

RE: Car periodically shuts off
Hi Chris,
Greetings from Yokohama.
As for the problem, is CEL (Check Engine Light) on? When you turn the key to "ACC", do you see CEL lighting? It may or may not be related to electronic control, but since your 850 is '93, you can manually retrieve codes from OBD-I terminal in the engine compartment, right by the windscreen washer filler neck. The code retrieval procedures are all over this section.
It may also be due to failing fuel pump, pump relay, etc...When was the last tune-up performed? It may need a good tune-up, as well as throttle body cleaning.
Give us more info about the condition of the car, especially maintenance record if available, so that people can better help you pinpoint the problem.
Best wishes,
JPN
