97 850 4dr R The back of the radio has a plug for CD Changer that has a cord plugged into it which would lead one to believe a CD changer is present. Where would the unit be if installed? Trunk, under seats?
It would be the trunk. Drivers side if I remember right.
There is a chance someone might have removed it or it's wired for one but it was never installed. They do that with fog lamps too. You may not have one.
Some 850s were prewired. If you have an 'R' I am pretty sure you are prewired. You should have an amp also thats between your heater core and radio. The 'R's got extra stuff. Whether there is a changer attached to that cord should be obvious and in your trunk.
BUT, the good news Jbuck is that you could get one from a salvage yard and just bolt it down and plug it in. It's still a much cheaper way to get almost unlimited road tunes !!
