Default Changing seat's in a 850R

Hi,
I am changing the front seats in my 1996 850R sedan. I have a few questions and hopefully someone can answer them for me. I have purchased a set of Peugeot 207 GTI Recaro seats in excellent condition. They are leather and suede so they will match the interior and look like the originals. I understand that the seats arent part of the SRS system, as they are mechanically run and ignited. If I remove the seats and turn on the ignition, will the SRS light stay on?? and if so why will it stay on?? there are no wires that are coming out of the seat airbag system so if the light stays on why does it do it?? If I just remove the box from under the seat will that stop the light from coming on?? If someone could answer these questions that would be great. Thanks

The 850 have the SIPS bags which ignite manually (when you hit hard enough the round metal capsule on the side of the seat ) so be carefull when handling them

This is why the SRS system will not react in any way if you take out the seats. Though you might get in trouble with the insurance and law agencies in case of an accident if it comes out that you tempered with the SRS system...Especially when there are injured persons involved.

If the SRS light stays on after you start the engine then you have a problem either with the steering wheel module, slip ring , passenger airbag or the restrainers in the B pillar but deffinetely not with the SIPS bags

If I recall correctly, the SRS light only comes on if something is wrong with the front 2 airbags, or the seat belt pretensioners.

It is not linked to the side air bags.
