Default Check Engine light

My check engine light came on this morning. I may have put too much oil in the engine whre I was topping it up.Could that be a possible cause?

I do not think that too much oil would cause the light to come on, but I suppose anything is possible. I would read the codes to seee what caused the check engine light to come on. After you do, please post here so we can help.

241 is usually clogged EGR.
414 might be a bad vaccum line from the EBC (Electronic Boost Controller)

You would need to remove the intake and EGR valve and clean it to fix that problem.
The EBC is mounted to the side of the air box. It is a Valve with 3 vaccum lines. Check all the lines really good.

Just wondering....is there a way to test the EBC itself, or is it just a replace only thing

Still would not mind getting a part number and/or pic of the EBC Vaccum lines

Not really an easy test you would need a hand held that would read realtime on it.

But if for Temp only 1 to 2 runs you could bypass and see if you made boost then would be an easy test.

I will see if I can find a pic.
There should be a diagram of the vaccum lines under the hood.
