Default Check Engine Light

239k mi...was driving down the highway and went to pass someone, afterwards I saw the check engine light come on. I started to freak out and think I blew something in the engine, even though there was no smells or sign of oil leakage which is my biggest concern. Thing is I drive to work on a high speed highway every day and no problems as of yet. What could it be? Right now with my work hours I don't have time to drop it at the mechanic, though I could try and squeeze it in on a Saturday morning if he feels like checking codes.

take the car to an advance auto parts - they will pull your codes for free. Depending on the year of your car, you can pull codes yourself with the diganostic port under the hood.

Post back with car model & if it's turbo or not. The year does make a difference. It could be nothing, like a bad O2 sensor. If the car is not running rough don't worry to much. What HIGH SPEED highway do you drive daily? Anything under 90 mph is not considered HIGH SPEED.
