Year make and model would help.... 95 and older you can use the ODBI port under the hood.. 96 and newer you use a hand held scanner plugged into the ODBII port under the coin holder.
If you dont have a scanner you can usually use one at your local auto parts for free.

Up to '95 there is a diagnostic port under the hood for self diagnostics. Starting in '93 a few cars had the OBDII port just above the shifter. In '94 there were a few more and in '95 most had it. By 1996 they were mandated in all cars in the US by our DOT.
The self diagnostic panel in on the passenger side of the car up by the washer fluid fill tube.
The OBDII connector is just above the shifter on the center console under a coin holder if your year has one.

it,s a sedan, non turbo, and the odometer is broke so not sure how many miles, when i bought it the person that sold it though there to be about 180,000 on it. i would say it at least has 200.000 on it now...
You can check the actual mileage yourself with the OBD-I port.
