Default check engine light

I own a '97 Volvo 850 GLT Turbo stationwagon. Yesterday the check engine light came on. i have checked all fluids and everything is at proper levels. and everything else appears fine also. I am not sure what might be causing this light to come on. any ideas anyone. thanks for the feedback.

You need to get the codes pulled.
If you are in the U.S. try either Advanced auto parts ot Auto Zone they will pull codes for you.

I don't think Auto Zone knows how to do your you can do it your self.
Follow instructions in the link.

Tech- I learned how to check the codes with the

#221- Heated Oxygen sensor- rich

#113- fuel injectors.

Yes it will fail inspection.

To test the sensor take a Volt meter and hook the black wire up to ground.

Then locate the plug for the o2 sensor there is a spade connector with a rubber boot looking thing over it.
Pull the boot back and connect the positive lead to it. Start up the car and watch the meter it should sweep up and down good. If not first replace the o2 sensor.
