Just bouhgt a 1995 850 GLT with 72k on it. I was pluging in my radar into the lighter and it wouldent work. I changed the fuse for the lighter still nutin and i really hate driving without the radar lol. Any one know how to fix this or how to take the lighter out to fix it?

 

The entire cubby comes out.
One screw by the lighter and the other in under the OBDII cover if you have one.
Then the cubby lifts out then check the wiring from there.

 

The politicians here in Australia bleat that police using radar to catch motorists travelling in excess of the speed posted limit (3 kmh or 1.8 mph maximum tolerance) is a safety issue only and is in no way related to revenue raising.

You would think in a democratic society, what is good for the goose is also good for the gander i.e. you snap them before they get a chance to snap you.

So, ever vigilant where revenue maybe compromised and to ensure the motorist cannot play this game on a level playing field, the government outlawed motorists using radar detectors and introduced heavy penalties for those who want to risk using one (originally $1,000 but probably much higher now).

 

Thanks for the information, u r right. It was disconnected for sum reason. but i messed up the light, for mistake i forgot to put the lighet near the ring so it is able to light up at night but i guess that doesnt matter.
