Clicking Sound
The 95 850 I bought is pretty much my first front wheel drive car ive owned. Ive had a outer CV joint ripped boot since I bought the car in Dec. Now the famous clicking sound has started, but when I talked to my Volvo Mech, he says it should only make that sound when the car is in motion. I get the clicking noise only once in a while when the car is in motion, but if I stop and put it in park, I can turn the wheels with no noise at all, but if I put it in drive and hold the brake, then turn the wheel, its there. My mech says it should not make the clicking noise when NOT in motion. Is this true, or could it be something else other than the outer CV joint....it seems the ripped boot would be a dead give away.

I believe the brand FCP Groton sells is also Empi.

Note, that certain models are fitted with non-reusable hub nut, which has a stake-tab (may be re-usable but I bought a new nut since it was mere $8).
Most of the time, a failing CV-joint makes the popular click at slow turns but since your boot is shot, the joint has probably suffered damage unless you caught it in its earliest stage.
See what other members have to say on the quality of Empi axle. I believe they are good. Check with FCP Groton to see if theirs is also Empi, then you can save a few dollars.
