Cold Start - Fuel pressure regulator

Cold Start - Fuel pressure regulator
I'm having cold start issues. It takes a bit longer to start the car than usual in the morning, noticed it starting to happen during the colder days, but it runs fine afterward. I know that there is a strong gas smell in my vacuum line that is connected to the fuel pressure regulator, does that mean its bad? .
Can i use a Fpr from a GMC Syclone? They look exactly the same, and its cheaper by about $20. Does it flow more than our stock one?

RE: Cold Start - Fuel pressure regulator
Try keeping the vaccum line disconnected but endplugged for one night and see if you get normal start next morning.
"I know that there is a strong gas smell in my vacuum line that is connected to the fuel pressure regulator, does that mean its bad?" - might be due to a leak in the regulator resulting in excess gas fed into the engine through vaccum line.
