Default cold weather issue?

so, i bought my 850 at the beginning of summer this year, and havent really had any issues until today.
it was about 28* out when i got into it this morning (way colder than its ever been before when i have driven it)
i got in, started it up, and it immediatly started giving me issues, it did not want to idle right, it kept idling at about 350 rpm's (sounded like it was about to die, but never did) so i let it warm up a bit, and it still didnt get any better. but, i needed to get to work, so i started my 45 minute drive there. the whole way there it felt like i had to give it more gas than usual to get it going, and every time i would let it idle down (clutching, stops, etc...) it would have the extremely low idle issue.by about 15 minutes in, the temp guage was reading normal, but i was still having this issue all of the way in to work, until i shot it off in the parking lot.

went out on break later on when it had warmed up to about 55*, and it ran fine, and it ran fine all the way home as well.

anyone have any ideas on what it could be? im thinking it may be a maf sensor?
it also ate up alot of gas as well while it was doing this.

and i have also noticed it has a bit of a loppy idle

28 degrees F? that is pretty cold. Sounds like your car needs a block heater if it gets that cold there.

I would make sure the idle motor is clean. Maybe when cold if isn't working properly.
Does the heat work good?

Is the check engine light on? I agree with Tech to check the idle motor. It also sounds like it could be the coolant temperature sensor going bad, but I'm not sure if that would only show up in cold weather

The idle motor is a round cylinder looking thing with 2 hoses going to it. It is mounted just infront of the throttle body. Like just under the front part of the black cover over the throttle cable setup.

Tech, what's the procedure for cleaning that idle motor? Or for that matter, for checking it? Just wondering if this should almost be a "preventative maintenance" thing for cold climates?... (Or have I just missed it in my half-hearted attempt at scanning previous posts for a procedure?...)

Alot of places clean it when they clean the throttle body. On the other hand alot of people don't do it at the same time.

To clean it just remove it and clean it with Carb cleaner or Brake cleaner. After it is all clean I always put a few drops of WD-40 or something like that and work it in to make sure everything lubbed.
