Cold weather issue (spark?)
I've been having a problem about a month where only first thing in the morning the car has a little difficulty starting. At first it was only particularly cold mornings and recently it became every morning. It catch on first turn of the key and then stumble to a halt. If I attempted restart then nothing. If I came back 5 minutes later, and gave it a little gas with the start, then it would fire right up and be good for the rest of the day.
At first I thought it was fuel related but then determined that I think it's spark because I got no reaction from using some starting fluid. So, I started reading and though I've never had a coil fail I figured it was the coil (I didn't think a crank position sensor could fail intermittently). So, tonight at about 0 outside I replaced the coil...
and.. nothing. So I'm assuming its one of these sensors. Any advice before I get it towed and spend money I don't really have right now? This is on a 98 V70R with the cap and rotor. Very recent tuneup and otherwise running excellently. 160K miles.
thanks,
