Default CPS Input voltage

Hi,
New to Volvo Forum. I have a 1994 850 which has sat for approx. 9 months during which my wife had (2) separate "mechanics" preform a wide range of repairs that in truth far exceed the vehicles value. When I returned home I found the engine on a lift in our garage...
Longer story short; the car has been reassembled and I now have a starting issue. It will fire and run on starting fluid and I have a consistent 42 PSI at the fuel rail but the injectors do not appear to be firing. The OBD-1 code is "314" for a bad camshaft position sensor. However while troubleshooting the CPS input wiring circuit I have 12 VDC between pin #3 and ground, (good), 12 VDC between pin #2 and ground, (much higher then the 5.0 VDC required) and 300 K Ohms between pin #1 and ground, (again much higher then the suggested 0 ohms).

Any suggestions?

Sounds like an open circuit (300K ohms is effectively open) on the ground wire. Since all 3 wires come from ECU, I would ohm out the wire to the ECU pin (A15 on N/A; A18 on turbo) to verify the wire isn't broken. Beyond that it could be an ECU or connection problem.

Disclaimer on pin numbers: am going from 1995 manual but don't think they're different from '94.

hey, how would you be able voltage or ohms on wiring to the ECM on an 850? I can't see any labels on the pins, and I can't get to them anyway.

I would love to be able to check voltage with the ECM hooked up, but I sure don't see how I can get to that stuff without a breakout box.

I sure hope there is a way to get to that wiring.
